Stop fearing rejection: Practical tips for content creators on Instagram and YouTube.

Fear of rejection is a common feeling that many content creators face on platforms like Instagram and YouTube. Here are some tips and exercises you can try to overcome that fear:

1. Accept your feelings: It's normal to feel afraid of rejection. Admit that you have this feeling and allow yourself to go through it without judgment. This can be an important first step in overcoming this fear.

2. Focus on your audience: Instead of worrying about whether someone will reject you, think about the people you are helping with your content. Focus on the value you offer your audience and how you can bring them closer to their goals by releasing your material to the world.

3. Practice positive visualization: Imagine and project that your creation is welcome. How would you feel receiving feedback full of good energy from your audience? What does it translate into for you? It can be anything from nice comments, likes, times shared with their friends or even hearing someone in person say “Hey, that's interesting what you posted”. This can be motivation enough to push you to overcome the fear of rejection.

4. Do it even if you feel fear: Often, frustration, bitterness, and fear subside when you take action in spite of it. That feeling may never leave your side, but you will learn not to let it paralyze or hold you back. Make a post or video, even if you feel uncomfortable or fearful doing so. Over time, you'll become more comfortable and confident.

5. Learn from your mistakes: Everything is learning. Use negative feedback to improve. Constructive criticism is worth gold. Someone telling you what's not so good is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge. Tweaking your skills and creating even more valuable content in the future comes not only from the applause, but from the repetitive question, “How can I do it better?”.

Remember that fear of rejection is something that many content creators face, and overcoming it is an ongoing process.

Be patient with yourself and be gentle with your journey as a digital creator. Over time, you'll see that fear diminish, and you'll feel more confident and secure in your content.
